On 12/8/2023 08:27, Dept 5 Crary Hose, Dept 16 Clymer Hose, Dept 6 Knoxville-Deerfield, Dept 3 Elkland (RIT), Dept 26 Sabinsville Ambulance and UPMC ALS were dispatched to 312 Mill St., Westfield for odor of gas inside the residence. Engine 5-3, Squad 5-18, Patrol 16-4, Rescue 16-8, Engine 6-2, 26-6 and MICU 5 responded. Crews monitored inside with no findings. UGI arrived and found no odors or findings. Chief 5 recalled the assignment. Chief 5-20 Heyler removed a pet to the resident waiting in vehicle. Chief 5-20 and Chief 16 then found small rust holes in vent pipe to furnace and UGI took over the scene. Proper authorities were notified for repairs. Job well done by all!
