Progress Report: Site Preparation Begins, Contractors Selected, and Donations Coming in Fast!

Site Preparation Work Begins

The Building and Grounds Committee has been working all summer on hiring contractors and vendors for site prep, materials, planning, scheduling and building of the site for the training building. We are proud to announce that work has commenced on the concrete pad that the building will sit on! The pad will be poured in three sections. Here are some pictures of the progress as of August 12th:

Additional progress items: access road preparation and base/elevation preparation was completed early in the summer. Installation of a fire hydrant was also completed in early July. Thank you to Westfield Borough and the Westfield DPW crew for purchasing and installing the hydrant.

Contractors

Since our last update, members of the committee have been working on quite a laundry list of items. This includes selection of a number of contractors and vendors to build the training center site.

  • General Contractor – We will be working with Ackley Construction on the building of the 100 x 100 concrete pad. Although work began early this spring, major progress should be seen during the week of August 11th.
