At 11/25/23 06:31, Crary Hose, Sabinsville Ambulance and UPMC ALS were dispatched to 2165 North Rd, Brookfield Township, to the scene of a gunshot wound, accidental discharge. Squad 5-18/Chief 5-20 crew of 3 and Engine 5-3 crew of 3 responded. Chief 5 responded, was first on scene, and quickly asked for 2 aeromed and a second ALS unit as a second patient from the same accidental discharge was found on scene. Squad 5-18 and an off-duty paramedic who was in the area provided patient care to both patents until Ambulance 26-17 arrived to take over patient care. UPMC ALS arrived shortly thereafter and provided ALS patient care. PA State Police responded to scene.
Engine 5-3 established landing zones for both aircraft withing 300 yds of the scene. LifeNet 7-7 and Lifeflight 4 both responded and each provided transport. All Dept 5 units returned available at 08:10. Thank you to all who responded and our hearts and thoughts are with all involved.
